Brisbane
A city of short stays and difficult buildings
Brisbane short-stay stock concentrates hard in the inner-city apartment belt: the CBD, South
Brisbane, Fortitude Valley, Newstead, Teneriffe and Kangaroo Point. Those buildings are excellent
for occupancy and genuinely awkward to service. Lift bookings, loading dock windows, visitor
parking that does not exist, security fobs that need collecting and restricted hours that do not
care about your check-in time.
A cleaner carrying linen for a three-bedroom apartment cannot improvise their way through
that. It has to be arranged before the day, which is why we ask for the building name and unit
number in the first enquiry rather than the first clean.
The other half of the market is the character stock through Paddington, West End, New Farm and
the Bulimba corridor. More floor area, more outdoor space, timber that shows every mark, and
decks that need attention a unit balcony does not.
We are based at New Farm, which puts us inside the densest short-stay pocket in the city
rather than driving into it each morning.
