Holiday rental cleaning for the way families stay

Holiday rental cleaning on the Gold Coast is mostly about families. Parents and kids, grandparents, sometimes two households sharing a house for a week of the school holidays. They arrive with boogie boards and eskies and leave with a fair bit of the beach in the hallway.

A week-long stay leaves more behind than a one-night city booking. The oven has done a roast, the dishwasher has run every night, the fridge is full of half-used sauces and the bins are overflowing. Bunk rooms need more than a remake. We build that into the time we quote, rather than finding it out at 10am.

The outside counts as much as the inside. Pool surrounds, outdoor settings and the BBQ get used hard through a coast summer, and the next family walks straight out to them on the first afternoon. Where a property has them, they are part of its reset.

Down the southern end we already turn over properties on Hill Avenue at Burleigh Heads, Twenty First Avenue at Palm Beach, the Gold Coast Highway at Miami, Hedges and Cronulla avenues at Mermaid Beach and Golden Four Drive at Tugun. We also cover Coolangatta and the border suburbs, and the whole strip north to Ormeau. Guest-ready by three.

Local knowledge

What a family holiday leaves behind

Four things that make a holiday house a bigger job than its bedroom count.

01

Sand, everywhere a kid has been

Tracks, drains, under beds and between cushions.

Sand comes in on feet, towels and boogie boards, and the next guest finds it barefoot. Sliding door tracks, shower drains, floor edges, rugs and couch cushions get vacuumed or cleared on every holiday turnover, not saved for a deep clean.

02

Pool and beach towels go walkabout

Wet, sandy and rarely where they started.

Towels end up on balconies, in the car and under the bunks. We count them every turnover and note any missing in the photo report. Wet towels left in a pile through a humid afternoon start to smell, so they are never left damp in a cupboard.

03

The BBQ gets used on night one

Outdoor areas are part of the listing.

Hotplate cleaned down and the gas checked, so nobody finds an empty bottle at dinner time. Pool surrounds swept and hosed, outdoor furniture and umbrellas reset, leaves skimmed off the pool. Water chemistry stays with your pool technician.

04

School holidays stack up

Week-long stays, then same-day changeovers.

A family week often ends on a Saturday morning and the next one starts that afternoon. That is the heaviest reset of the year inside the shortest window, which is why laundered linen arriving with the cleaner matters most in the holidays.

Timing

How long a holiday house takes

Typical time on site, from our own turnover records. Bunk rooms, pools and long stays can push past these, so we quote the real property.

~2 hrs1 bed, 1 bath apartment
~2.5 hrs2 bed, 2 bath apartment
~3.5 hrs3 bed, 2 bath home
~4 hrs4 bed, 2 bath home

Holiday rental cleaning questions

What does holiday rental cleaning on the Gold Coast include?

A full turnover of every room, plus the things families use hardest: sand cleared from tracks, drains and floor edges, the kitchen reset after a week of cooking, pool and beach towels counted, the BBQ cleaned down and outdoor areas swept. A photo report of every room is sent before the next guest arrives.

Do you clean the BBQ and pool area?

Yes, where the property has them. We clean down the BBQ hotplate and check the gas, sweep and hose the pool surrounds, reset outdoor furniture and umbrellas, and skim leaves from the pool. Water chemistry stays with your pool technician. These are quoted per property, so a unit without a pool does not pay for one.

Can you turn over a holiday house on the same day in school holidays?

Yes, inside a standard 10am checkout and 3pm check-in. A 3 bed, 2 bath house takes about 3.5 hours on site and a 4 bed about 4 hours. Long stays need a heavier reset, so linen hire matters here: with no washing at the property, the whole window goes on cleaning.

Do you supply beach and pool towels?

Yes, with linen hire. Beach and pool towels are added per property where the listing offers them, delivered laundered with the cleaner and taken away used on the same visit. Sand and sunscreen are a normal part of a coast holiday, so towels that will not come clean are replaced from our stock, not billed to you.
