Airbnb cleaning Miami units, one block at a time

Airbnb cleaning in Miami on the Gold Coast is mostly units. Short stays here sit in small, low-rise unit blocks along the Gold Coast Highway, with the beach on the other side of the road and the Miami headland at the southern end.

We already turn over units on the Gold Coast Highway at Miami. Burleigh Heads is the next suburb south and Mermaid Beach the next north, and we work both, so Miami is on a run our crews drive most days rather than a special trip.

Guests pick Miami for the beach across the road and Burleigh a few minutes down the highway. Couples and small families, mostly, staying a few nights. They spend the day on the sand and come back up the stairs with it. They want a cool unit, a clean shower and a working air conditioner remote, and they will say so in a review if one of those is missing.

Every turnover finishes with a photo report of each room. The AC is switched off and photographed, the balcony door locked and photographed, and the keys go back in the lockbox with a photo. You see it the same afternoon.

Local knowledge

What a Miami turnover involves

Small units on a busy road, a short walk from the surf.

01

Highway dust and salt on the glass

Two kinds of grime, one balcony.

Units facing the Gold Coast Highway pick up road dust on top of the salt coming in off the ocean. Balcony furniture gets wiped before the floor is swept and mopped, sliding doors and reachable windows are done, and every few stays the balcony gets a deeper clean so it never looks tired in the guest's first photo.

02

Small blocks, no manager onsite

Lockboxes, keypads and key safes.

Small blocks often have no manager onsite, so access tends to be a lockbox or keypad. We put the process on the run sheet, return the guest keys on the way out, scramble the code and photograph both. If a lockbox is sticking or a code has stopped working, you hear about it before the next guest does.

03

Walk-up stairs and tight kitchens

Older blocks, less room to work.

Plenty of the older blocks have no lift and a galley kitchen. We bag the linen and restock supplies so it all goes up in one trip, then work the kitchen properly: inside the oven, microwave and dishwasher filter, the rangehood filter degreased, and the fridge cleared out with fresh milk in the door.

04

Air conditioning does the heavy lifting

Summer guests notice it first.

In a small unit on the highway, the AC runs most of the day from November to March. We check the remote is there and working, wipe the vents, and note on the photo report when a unit is dripping, noisy or blowing dust, so you can book a service between stays.

Miami cleaning questions

Do you do Airbnb cleaning in Miami on the Gold Coast?

Yes. We already turn over units on the Gold Coast Highway at Miami, and we are in Burleigh Heads and Mermaid Beach on either side most days. Each clean follows the full turnover checklist, with linen and restocking if you want them, and ends with a photo report of every room.

How long does it take to clean a 1 or 2 bedroom unit in Miami?

About 2 hours on site for a 1 bed, 1 bath unit and about 2.5 hours for a 2 bed, 2 bath, by our own records. Both fit comfortably between a 10am checkout and 3pm check-in, which leaves room for a late checkout or a guest who leaves a mess.

Can you get into a unit block with no onsite manager?

Yes. Small blocks without a manager usually work on a lockbox, a keypad or a key safe. We collect the key, and when we leave the guest keys go back in the lockbox, the code is scrambled and both are photographed for your report.

What happens if a guest leaves sand and wet towels everywhere?

It is part of a normal Miami turnover. Towels are collected from the balcony and bathroom, tracks and floors are vacuumed, and the shower drain is cleared. With our linen hire, fresh towel sets come in with us, so nothing needs to dry at the unit before the next check-in.
